1. 48-Hour Inspection Window (Required)

Lighting fixtures are fragile. Upon delivery, you must inspect your package immediately.

  • Damages: Any shipping damage or missing parts must be reported to us via email within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Documentation: Include your order number and clear photos or video of the damaged item and the exterior packaging.
  • Failure to report within 48 hours constitutes acceptance of the product “as-is.”
  • We will arrange a replacement or full refund at no additional cost to you.

2. Returns & Exchanges

We offer a 30-day return window for most items, subject to the following strict conditions:

  • Condition: Items must be in their original, un-opened packaging with all internal protection, manuals, and hardware included.
  • Uninstalled Only: Once a fixture has been installed, wired, or modified in any way, it is no longer eligible for return or exchange due to safety and liability regulations.
  • Restocking Fee: Returns for “change of mind” or “incorrect size” are subject to a 30% restocking fee to cover inspection and repackaging costs.

3. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are Final Sale and cannot be returned:

  • Items must be in the original packaging (including all parts, manuals, and accessories.
  • Special Order items (items not regularly kept in stock).
  • Clearance or discontinued, “Open Box” items.
  • Installed, used, altered, or cut wires of item
  • Light bulbs, LED products, drivers, and electrical components
  • Orders with numerous quantities of same items. When ordering large quantities, we suggest a sample for evaluation.

4. Shipping Costs

  • Customer Responsibility: Unless the return is due to a documented manufacturer defect or shipping damage, the customer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
  • Original Shipping: Original shipping charges paid at the time of purchase are non-refundable.
  • Insurance: We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance. We cannot guarantee a refund if the item is broken during its return trip to us.
  • The Customer assumes full responsibility for verifying product specifications prior to purchase.
  • We are not liable for:
    • Carrier delays or damages reported outside the claim window
    • Lost or stolen packages once marked delivered

5. Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected (usually within 3-5 business days), we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

  • Approved Refunds: Will be processed back to your original method of payment.
  • Processing Time: Please allow 5–10 business days for the credit to appear on your statement.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under applicable law, Simcoe Lighting & Decor shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Installation or labor costs (including electrician fees)
  • Property damage or loss arising from improper installation or misuse

The Customer assumes all responsibility for proper installation and use.

7. Policy Enforcement

Simcoe Lighting & Decor reserves the right to:

  • Refuse any return or claim that does not strictly comply with this policy
  • Modify this policy at any time without prior notice
